As an independent consultant, I set up Opus21 Ltd in 2005 to provide Engineering Management and B2B Marketing for SMEs and Micro businesses
Prior to that I was the Technical Director of the UK part of an American-Anglo Instrumentation Company. In that role I was responsible for European Marketing and for the development of engineering products for the Wire and Cable and Plastic Extrusion Industries.
I started my career with a first qualification in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. My first job was as a Design Engineer developing low noise and low distortion analogue circuitry for the Professional Audio Industry.
Subsequently I moved into Instrumentation, developing products for the Water Industry, Building Industry and for Agriculture. During this time, as many of the instruments I was designing had a high digital and software content, I studied for and attained a Masters Degree in Information Systems, This also gave me an opportunity to follow an enthusiasm for artificial intelligence and its application in small handheld devices.
I am a Chartered Electrical Engineer
